Hollandite

Hollandite

  • Etymology : The name is dedicated to T.H. HOLLAND, Director of the Geological Service of India.
  • Discovery: 1906 by Fermor
  • Type localityKAJLIDONGRI, ETAT DE JHABUA (Inde).

Hollandite is a manganese and barium oxide.

Due to its often radial, fibrous structure, it forms very aesthetic shapes in quartz.
