  • Etymology : From Greek " adamas " = invincibility. The name diamond was used for the first time by Pline 100 BC.

The purple diamonds are very rare.

On April 4th, 2016, a magnificent oval purple diamond of 2.83 carats was presented by the diamondiferous group Rio Tinto. it was cut by Richard How KIm Kam. " Purple Argyle " was named(appointed).

This diamond comes from the mine Argyle in Australia. it weighed originally 9.17ct.

The mine Argyle is known to produce the most beautiful red diamonds and the pink diamonds.

This exceptional diamond was certified by the laboratory GIA " as Greyish Bluish Violet. "

It is type IaB's diamond, that is rich in Hydrogen and Nitrogen.
