Discovery of a new mineral species
LAURENTTHOMASITEThe name of this new mineral species is the LAURENT THOMASITE, in honor of its discoverer, our friend Laurent Thomas.
This mineral comes from Beravina - Betroka - Toliara Province - Madagascar, in 2018.
His name was attributed, after analysis, by the Natural History Museum in Paris.
It’s a rare mineral. Only a few pieces could be cut. We only selected one. Rectangle shaped cut pans, it weighs 0.39ct
